Kennedy Meaney

Kennedy Meaney was a 3 sport athlete at San Luis Obispo High School. She competed for SLO High on their volleyball, water polo, and swim teams. In 2011, her team beat Arroyo Grande High School to become League Champions. Her senior year, she earned First Team All League honors for volleyball and received First Team All League honors for Water Polo her Junior and Senior years of High school.

 

Meaney attended Cal Lutheran where she graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Pedagogy. While attending Cal Lutheran her freshman year, she competed on both the Water Polo team and the Volleyball team before ultimately deciding to continue playing only Volleyball for the remainder of her college career. Her and her team won 4 consecutive Conference Championships during her career as well as earning a Regional Championship in 2013 and were National Champion Runner Ups after a brutal 5 set loss in the National Championship match. Her senior at Cal Lutheran, Meaney was voted First Team SCIAC Setter and the Female Scholar Athlete of the Year. She stayed at CLU one more year to receive teaching credential and was the Graduate Assistant Coach for the 2015 National Championship Team.

After obtaining a Teaching Credential in PE, Meaney moved back to SLO and starter teaching at CL Smith Elementary and was the Assistant Coach at SLOHS for 3 years. During this time, she received her Masters in Educational Leadership from Cal Lutheran. In 2019, she transferred to SLOHS to teach PE and became the Head Coach of the SLOHS Girl's Volleyball Team and Head Coach for the SLOHS JV Boy's Team. On top of her passion for Volleyball, Meaney has a passion for educating athletes on proper strength training. She will be teaching a weight training course this year at SLOHS and is currently studying for the Certified Strength and Conditioning (CSCS) exam that she will take in August.
